TiviMate: the IPTV player guide for Australia

What TiviMate is

It is a player app designed for TV screens and remotes. Its main strength is the programme guide: a fast, familiar grid of channels and times. As with every player, it contains no channels. It displays the playlist your provider gives you.

The official TiviMate IPTV Player listing is published by Armobsoft FZE and has more than 5 million downloads. It says the app is designed for Android TV and remote-control navigation, and is not optimised for phones or tablets. Checked 26 September 2026.

TiviMate features

• Search and parental controls: find programmes quickly and lock groups.

TiviMate free vs Premium

The app is free to install, with in-app purchases. TiviMate Premium unlocks the advanced features and is sold as an annual subscription or a one-time lifetime licence. Prices change, so check the upgrade screen in the app rather than a price quoted on a website.

• Confirm which of the features above your edition includes before relying on recording, catch-up or multiview.
• Check the device allowance for your licence if you have several TVs.
• A Premium licence unlocks app functions only. It does not buy content or add screens to your provider's plan.

TiviMate Companion is a separate phone app from the same developer. Its listing says it unlocks Premium on devices without Google Play and manages your activated devices. It is not a player.

Installing TiviMate

1. On your Android TV or Google TV device, open Google Play.
2. Search for “TiviMate IPTV Player” and check that the publisher is Armobsoft FZE.
3. Select Install, then open the app from your home screen.

Devices that work well include the Google TV Streamer, Chromecast with Google TV and smart TVs running Google TV, such as many Sony and TCL models. See our IPTV box guide for a comparison.

TiviMate on Firestick and Fire TV

Fire TV devices use the Amazon Appstore, not Google Play, and TiviMate is distributed through Google Play.

• Vega OS models cannot run it. The 2025 Fire TV Stick 4K Select and the 2026 Fire TV Stick HD run Amazon's Linux-based Vega OS, which cannot install Android apps from outside the Appstore.
• Fire OS models, such as older sticks, the Fire TV Cube and TVs with Fire TV built in, can install Android apps from outside the store. Only use a file supplied by the developer. Modified “free Premium” copies are a common source of malware.

Adding a playlist to TiviMate

1. Open the app and select Add playlist.
2. Choose Xtream Codes (server URL, username, password), M3U playlist (a single URL) or Stalker Portal, depending on what your provider supplied.
3. Confirm the channel groups you want to show. Hide groups you do not use to simplify navigation.
4. Select Done. The app loads the channels and the guide.

TV guide (EPG) tips

• If the guide is empty, open Settings → EPG, add the XMLTV link from your provider, then update.
• Set the guide update interval to once a day to keep it fresh without slowing the app.
• If programme times are off by an hour, check the time-shift setting, especially after daylight saving changes in NSW, VIC, TAS, SA and the ACT.
